Historical

We’ve been studying for more than 15 years how to enter into the brazilian energy market, especially hydroelectrics once they’re renewable and clean, difficult to get license, easy to operate, and because they have the lowest market generation cost, and certainly will be widely used for many and many years. At the first project, in the beginning of 2000, we had the concession from ANEEL of 25 MW site in Paraná. – Brazil. We learned a lot spendind U$1,2MM on that. It was totally greenfield and we had, at that time, no experience on the industry. We hired people who knew how to develop execelent engineering projects. Althought the final projects were wonderful, we didn´t take into account the political and environmental issues of the State of Paraná. These two factors led the project to remain just a dream and 17 years later we decide to write off the investment made before it eventualy stars to generate more damages throught fines to be paid to ANEEL. Two years ago, we restarted studying this market throught the companies Higher/Construnível. We met people who not only knew about engineering but also the whole sector ecosystem: political, commercial, environmental and landholding.

Learning

Our historical learning curve has taught us to ask for some conditions. A deal breaker condition was the enviromanetal construction permits (wich should be already issued) and the landholding already set. We have gradually created a model where knowledge/management and capital had become comfortable for everyone. That made us invest our own resources and reputation, by the way, as we do in all Blintor investments. If it´s good for us, it should be good for our friends and investors. We like to create an alignment of true aim for all.

Governance

Last but not least, the company´s governance, being a Corporation with an investment fund format, but without the costs of it. The company will be managed by Blintor/Higher, in a simplified and transparent way, protecting all shareholders.
